3 Tips For Getting Through Hard Times in Your Life

May 09, 20224 min read

Let me be honest with you: I have had some rough days. Getting through hard times can be difficult. There are days when bad things happen that could derail me. I could throw in the towel, let myself feel bad, and not reach the goals that I set for myself.

For example, the other day was a mess. There was an event I was supposed to speak in that got canceled. I had a horrible experience with an Airbnb my family was staying in, and I also had multiple clients who were struggling with their own life problems that I felt very personally. And to top it all off, I ran out of creamer for my coffee!

Sometimes there are big problems that can totally mess up our day, week, or month. Other times, it’s a bunch of little things that continually pull you down.

Your Tool Kit For Getting Through Hard Times

But guess what? That’s why I’m here! I want you to know that it is totally possible to ride the waves and get through those hard times in your life. To stop yourself from getting derailed, shutting down, and letting your emotions take over, here are the things that I like to do to get through hard times in life.

1- Shift the perspective.

Instead of thinking, “this is the worst day ever,” you need to flip the script. Find the positives in your day to focus on! That’s why I love my Krystal Clear Life Planner. There is a section each day for reflection. I get to score my day, talk about my wins, and share the ways that I showed up for people.

For example, on the day that I had that was a mess I also found a ton of positives! This was during my Bombshell Bootcamp and I was able to show up for the ladies in the group and make a difference for them. I also had my book club which I love!

Don’t let yourself go to bed angry. By reflecting at the end of the day on the positives, you can change your perspective. If you continue to focus on the negative, you’ll only find the negative. Hunt for the good stuff and you will begin to see a huge shift in your life!

2- Practice consistent daily habits.

When you’re getting through hard times, you need to keep up your daily habits. And the daily habits you have should make you feel great! Some daily habits you should include in your life are:

  • Eating healthy and clean without starving yourself or doing fad diets

  • Staying hydrated to flush out the “gunk”

  • Getting more steps! Move however feels good for you, but add in at least 30 minutes of movement each day

In order to have mental and physical clarity, you need to create habits that are positive. Think about how you are managing your stress. What can you add to your daily habits to bring some positivity to your life?

3- Practice positive intention

Your mindset plays a major part in getting through hard times. Nancy Lovering’s list of tips for getting through hard times included one idea that I think is really important: focusing on possible positive outcomes in your situation.

Her article explains the importance of meditating each day and focusing on your desired outcomes. There will be an end date to your hard times, and focusing on what that end date will bring can allow you to stay positive while going through it!

You Will Get Through Hard Times!

There are going to be good times, but there are also going to be times when it seems like everything gets in your way.

Are you in this for the long haul? In order to ride the waves and get through hard times, you have to stay grounded.

When things stack up, we either implode and feel crappy or explode and say things we don’t mean. In order to prevent that, you need to reflect, stay grounded, and protect yourself through those bad days. Shift your perspective, continue building good daily habits, and feel the power of positive intention. Things will get better!

If you need a community for getting through hard times, I am always here! I want to lift you up and help you become the best version of yourself. The doors for the Million Dollar Body Academy closes soon and I want you to join us in this group challenge to reach your goals and feel amazing!
